Shed Siding Types: Which one is right for you?

At Pine Creek Structures, we offer a variety of siding types for your new storage shed or garage. Each siding option comes in a variety of color options. Let’s break down the pros, cons, and options for each of our siding types: Vinyl, LP Smart Side, LP Shiplap, LP Board ‘N’ Batten, Traditional Board ‘N’ Batten, Cedar, and Log.

 

Vinyl Siding

About: Vinyl siding is the popular choice for customers who want a building to match their home. It is virtually maintenance-free. Unlike other different styles, you will never have to repaint this product. Depending on your environment, you may wish to pressure wash the siding every few years to remove dirt and other build up.

Color Options: Vinyl siding has 10 standard color choices. 12 optional color choices are also available for an small added fee. Custom colors are also available for an added fee (and may also require extra production time).

Manufacturer Warranty: Vinyl siding comes with a limited, lifetime warranty from the siding manufacturer.

Cost Comparison: Typically, vinyl siding is one of the most inexpensive choices (with LP Smart side being just slightly less expensive). It is the same price as LP Board ‘N’ Batten siding. All other sidings are more expensive.

 

 

LP Smart Side Siding

About: LP Smart Side looks like a T1-11 siding you may know, but is engineered for strength and longevity. It’s SmartGuard process treats each wood strand throughout the panels with an advanced formula of binders, waxes, and zinc borate to resist splitting, cracking, fungal decay, and termites. It also includes Smart Finish to give your shed interior a clean look.

Color Options: LP Smart Side siding has 19 paint and 6 polyurethane color choices. Custom paint colors are also available for an added fee.

Manufacturer Warranty: LP Smart Side siding comes with a 5/50-year limited warranty from the siding manufacturer.

Cost Comparison: Typically, LP Smart Side siding is the most inexpensive choice (with vinyl being just slightly more). All other sidings are more expensive.

About: LP Shiplap siding looks like natural wood, but is engineered for strength and longevity. It’s SmartGuard process treats each wood strand throughout the panels with an advanced formula of binders, waxes, and zinc borate to resist splitting, cracking, fungal decay, and termites.

Color Options: LP Board ‘N’ Batten siding has 19 paint and 6 polyurethane color choices. Custom paint colors are also available for an added fee.

Color Options: Traditional Board ‘N’ Batten siding has 5 stain color choices. Custom stain colors are also available for an added fee.

Manufacturer Warranty: Traditional Board ‘N’ Batten siding does not include a manufacturer warranty.

Cost Comparison: Typically, traditional Board ‘N’ Batten siding is more expensive than Vinyl, LP Smart Side, and LP Board ‘N’ Batten. It is the same price as LP Shiplap siding. Cedar and Log sidings are more expensive.

About: Cedar siding is a natural wood product that gives a building a rustic feel. To maintain it’s beautiful stained look, it will require staining every few years.

Color Options: Cedar siding has 5 stain color choices. Custom stain colors are also available for an added fee.

Manufacturer Warranty: Cedar siding does not include a manufacturer warranty.

Cost Comparison: Typically, cedar siding is the same price as log siding. It is more expensive than all siding other options.

Cost Comparison: Typically, log siding is the same price as log siding. It is more expensive than all siding other options.
